Miliband: Labour 'got it wrong' on immigration
Labour badly mishandled the issue of immigration in government, Ed Miliband is expected to say.
In a speech later, Mr Miliband will say his party "got it wrong" when it allowed uncontrolled immigration from new EU states in 2004.
Mr Miliband will also say his party ignored those who didn't benefit from the big increases in immigration.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-18539472In a direct reference to an incident during the 2010 election campaign, when Gordon Brown was caught on a microphone dismissing a voter who raised the issue as "bigoted", Mr Miliband will say voters have legitimate fears.
"Worrying about immigration, talking about immigration, thinking about immigration, does not make them bigots. Not in any way. They are anxious about the future," he will argue.

http://middlesbrough-council.com/forum/ ... =119&t=719Middlesbrough constituants who question the leadership of the boro are being told by Mayor Ray Mallon -
THERE has been - for some time - a concentrated effort to challenge democracy in Middlesbrough -
"and replace it with something much more sinister".
So says Mayor Ray Mallon,
who last night spoke out at a special meeting of Middlesbrough Council prompted by a series of attacks on elected members.
Former detective Mr Mallon said he had also arrived at a judgement as to who is likely to become the target of future criminal action.
