As someone who knows Middlesbrough well, likes the town and its people, used to work here and now lives here, I am sad to say that Middlesbrough is bottom of the list in so many respects, and top of the list in others (highest unemployment in the country, highest youth unemployment, highest youth crime), I agree that we need regime change in the Town Hall, and I must declare my interest in wanting to be part of that regime change. In May we have elections for our Executive Mayor (who has virtually full powers) and all our local Councillors. My advice is: look at what each candidate/party/group is proposing; look at their capabilities and experience; vote for the person/party you feel most confident WILL make a difference. If the voters of Middlesbrough decide they do not want regime change but prefer "more of the same", that is their right. I for one will not complain about the result either way.
