As Chief Superintendent SeeNoEvil and his deputy HearNoEvil sit at home
on a full-pay package which amounts to approximately £800 A DAY between them (based on a figure of £293,000 per year quoted on tv)
we are now treated to an interview with another temporary senior police officer, this one on £133,000 per year.
Enter temporary chief constable Jacqui Cheer who, from her tv interview, certainly fits the title ‘SpeakNoEvil’.
”Cleveland Police isn’t in a mess, it’s in a unique set of circumstances.”

Isn’t that a bit like saying “You’re not being arrested, you’re being held for questioning”?
Either way you’re not going to be home for tea…
Mrs Cheer seems very adept at not answering questions put to her in interviews.
Take the question
“Can you guarantee that your wages are not going to have an impact on front-line services?”
Her response of “I can guarantee that we will be looking at where the money will be coming from”, speaks volumes.
Yet another load of political double-speak from yet another expensive mouth.
She could have simply said “No”,
but maybe we are paying her by the word.
With our senior officers all on gardening leave, members of the CPA crying that the investigation
(into the force that they’re supposed to be responsible for and, possibly, into them too)
is costing too much, or getting a bit close for comfort perhaps,
what we really need now is someone to take charge, cut out the bullsh and tell it how it is.
If there’s one thing worse than repeatedly having to have our police investigated at the taxpayers expense,
it’s being repeatedly spoon-fed platitudes and aspirational nonsense when what we really want to know
is whether anyone will come if we need to dial 999, and how long we will have to wait.
Someone, please, just tell it how it is in plain and simple terms,
then let the investigation concentrate on resolving the situation
as efficiently as possible while whats left of Cleveland Police,
and their temporary Guv’nors, get on with making our streets safe.
