Martin Shaw: actor filming in Middlesbrough

Post by BoroBot »

After several years of Middlesbrough Council led by Ray Mallon and Mbro Executive stooges
taking the piss out of the people in Middlesbrough
and more especially Middlehaven & Gresham folk with rants in the media such as “Gresham is a cancer”

Enter the dragon in the form of Martin Shaw Actor known for his roles in the television series
The Professionals, The Chief, Judge John Deed and Inspector George Gently.

Adding insult to the people of Gresham who for several years have suffered constant torment from Middlesbrough Council Executive

Producer Claire Ingham said:

“We’re delighted to be filming again in Durham and the North-east - and it’s fantastic to be able to recreate the world of 1969.
“There were such vivid and colourful changes in society at that time - and hopefully our series will continue to give a real portrait of the age.”

NO NO NO NO

You did not create in Middlesbrough Gresham the world of 1969

Ray Mallon David Budd Charles Rooney “the loony” and Members of Mbro Exec along with numerous Chief Executive Officer Re-Generation Experts at Middlesbrough Town Hall using countless millions in taxpayer’s money created the 1969 backdrop you are using for filming.

Inspector George Gently or his ilk should be investigating this creation of 1969 in 2013 Middlesbrough to see who gained what and why.

Part of the area off Union Street is scheduled for regeneration. And for the popular crime drama’s location team, it has provided the perfect backdrop for the first hour-long show in series seven.
Some 50 extras and the production crew will be on site from 8am-6pm all week.
And on the first day of filming yesterday, as word got around a film crew was in town, onlookers wandered along to see what all the fuss was about.
Sporadic moments of high drama were interspersed with lots of actors standing around, trying to keep warm on a dull, dank Boro day.
And while the show’s big name, actor Martin Shaw, wasn’t around on day one, he is due to be making an appearance during the week.
Unit manager Aaron Sutter said: “You read the script, break it down to find somewhere that’s as close to the brief as you can get and this was ideal.
“Contrary to popular belief, we’re on an incredibly tight budget so it’s great to find somewhere which fits the brief and needs little doing to it.
“We’ve been dealing with the council, local contractors, parking services, the police, the works really and everyone has been incredibly helpful.”
That includes some of the people still living in the area, but Aaron said they - and the Boro public in general - have been very accommodating.
He said: “You occasionally get problems with people walking into shot sometimes, but that happens on most location shoots and it’s something we’re ready for.”
Series producer Matthew Bird, whose previous credits include Death In Paradise and The Street, is pleased with the Middlesbrough location.
He said: “We had a choice of three locations in the North-east but this was the best and the one we thought we could really work with.”

The series is made by Company Pictures and is due to air on BBC1 later this year.

Middlesbrough Gresham 1969 backdrop for filming suspended
Producers realised that Ray “mega mouth” Mallon & Members of Mbro Exec
2013 Middlesbrough Gresham wasteland resembling the 1950/60’s was too realistic
Viewers wouldn’t buy into Ray “mega mouth” Mallon’s creation “The New Vision for Middlesbrough”
Filming was cancelled late on Tuesday 19th March 2013

Move along folks……… Nothing New……. To see in Middlesbrough
