EU costs Britain £50m a day, Ukip claims
Britain's daily contribution to the European Union has passed £50 million, the UK Independence Party (Ukip) claimed
Analysis of figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS)
showed the UK's gross contribution rising to £18.4 billion in 2010, or £51 million a day.
At the same time, receipts from the EU fell to £8.1 billion,
meaning that Britain's net contribution increased from £6.7 billion to £10.3 billion, or £28 million a day.

Last week Cameron and Clegg travelled to the EU and discussed how treaty change can happen without it triggering a referendum in the UK. This act should have been headline news... our own leaders specifically set about stopping the people having a democratic vote on its membership of the EU superstate. They are a disgrace. UKIP and Mr Farage really are the only way to stop this lunacy without a military coup here in Britain.
