Today it has been announced that Mr. S Price has been fired, for gross misconduct in trying to fix up (alleged) CPA Chair's Clr. McKlukie family member with a job.

McKlukie resigned, later Clr Coppinger also resigned, the CPA.
I suppose no one on the CPA knew anything about any of this.
Alongside this we see articles about J. McCarthy, former Chairman of the CPA coming in for criticism on his use of a credit card (paid for by ratepayers).
He got the job in 2003, salary under £80,000. plus a car allowance and expenses (over £1000).
McCarthy joined the authority seven years ago after working as head of strategic partnering with Middlesbrough Council and bid director for Amey Plc.
He was on around £113000 by then.
Subsequently 2009 he was on almost £190,000, the next year £188,000 due to loyalty payments and performance bonuses, of which he negotiated himself. Plus £8,000 for car allowance all with the full knowledge of the CPA.
He left it was announced in the EG, receiving a payoff of £362,000! (8/6/2010) and the following comments made . . . .
"Today both the authority chairman Councillor Dave McLuckie and Chief Constable Sean Price paid tribute to the contribution made by Mr McCarthy."
It's reported now that he also ran up bills on the credit of around £80,000! and is being investigated.
There are some questions spring to mind . . .
1. Those who were on the CPA including one currently standing for the Police Commisioners slot, either were not monitoring their own CPA activities and did not know what was going on or, . . .
2. Knew but said or did nothing.
A group who were supposed to be monitoring the activities of the Police and etc.
Either scenario they damn themselves, there should now be a thorough investigation into the whole CPA group, as to just what they were supposed to be doing, what they knew about the activities of the group.
Maybe some of the leading names currently in the news, such as Clrs Coppinger, McKluckie and Co., should come out and make clear comments as to these events and what they knew or did no know about such events.
Such statements should be made in advance of the forthcoming election for the post of Police Commissioner, along with the whole past to current activities of the CPA and its members.
